Senior Principal

Mark Pedigo, a principal in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting Group at GHP Horwath, brings more than 25 years of experience in economic damages analysis, valuation, strategic consulting, and financial analysis. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), registered in the state of Colorado, Mark is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Certified Financial Forensic Analyst (CFFA). He has provided consulting, valuation, and expert testimony services to Counsel on behalf of intellectual property owners and accused infringers involved in intellectual property disputes such as patent infringement, copyright infringement, trade dress and trademark infringement, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets. And he has provided this expertise during legal proceedings, whether before a judge, jury, arbitration panel or mediator. In addition, Mark has provided strategic intellectual property valuation and/or royalty rate consulting to clients for licensing, tax, financial reporting, and other business purposes.

Mark remains current on the latest developments in case law concerning patent infringement damages and valuations, and has assessed a broad range of patent infringement damages issues — including damage assessments for lost profits caused by defendants’ alleged infringement of patent claims, analyzed and quantified lost collateral or ‘convoyed profits’, developed reasonable royalty calculations, and much more.

In addition to substantial intellectual property litigation experience, Mark also provides consulting, valuation, and expert testimony services to Counsel on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants involved in commercial disputes. Further, he has extensive experience with construction litigation and audit-related experience, and has worked on intellectual property and other commercial litigation cases involving numerous industries including biotech/pharmaceutical, construction, consumer products, medical, high technology, retail, manufacturing, and more.

Mark joined GHP Horwath in 2002. Before that, he was a director at InteCap, Inc., (a division of Charles River Associates) and before that was a principal at Kellogg, LLC and Peterson Consulting, LLC (a division of Navigant Consulting). He has also worked in a number of other companies in management, consultant, and senior auditor positions at Kellogg Corporation, Asamera Inc., Southwestern Public Service Co., and Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. Mark holds an M.S. in Management from the University of Colorado and a B. B. A. in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
